Fun on a Rainy Summer Day with your Kids
It’s a rainy day, the kids are out of school for the summer and you are asking yourself ,”what can I do for fun with the kids?” Here are ten great indoor summer fun activities:
- Play Dress-Up. Collect hats, gloves, purses, gowns, and more at a garage sale or thrift store. Put on your new garments, let your imagination take over and have fun dressing up.
- Rent or pick up a DVD from your library or online that takes place in another country. Watch it with your kids and talk about what you’ve learned.
- Bake cupcakes in ice cream cones and then decorate them. Voila! Cupcake Cones!
- Home spa day. Have fun painting each other’s nails bright colours and styling your hair with heat-free styling tools.
- Participate in your local library’s summer reading program, or have your own. Let the kids pick a theme for the summer and sign out a book to read each week or month on the topic.
- Summer Camp in. Put the sleeping bags on the living room floor and have a family slumber party with flashlights and camping foods.
- Build a Lego castle. Grab the legos and make it a family project.
- Dance in the Rain. Take your kids out during a gentle summer rain. Put on their swimsuits and rain boots, catch raindrops in your mouth, and jump in the puddles.
- Play board games. Choose fun and interactive games that will keep everyone engaged.
- Write and create cards to send to family and friends. Use stickers, crayons and cut-outs from magazines.
