Halloween is here!

 

It’s that time of the year again! The leaves are changing colours, the sweaters are out and the kids are getting ready to dress up as their favourite characters. This is an exciting time for many and Kinder Buddies Oakville Daycare wants you to have a safe and memorable day.

 

 

 

 

 

Here are some Kinder Buddies related guidelines for all our families:

 

Costume Tips:

• We strongly discourage that accessories/weapons like swords or pirate knives are not permitted. Also consider that capes and dress up shoes can be hazardous. We also suggest a change of clothes be available for children, as costumes are often not comfortable to wear for a full day.

 

Treat Suggestions: 

• Allow appropriate treats for each classroom. Keep in mind to avoid hard and small candies that could pose a choking hazard. A reminder to parents will be communicated to this point, as well as to avoid any treats/snacks that contain nuts.

 

While you are out with your kids and family, here are some great tips to ensure you have a safe and fun night:

• Plan a route in advance
• Carry flashlights and use reflective bracelets, tape or rods in costumes
• Bring or wear comfortable shoes (This applies to kids and adults)
• Dress weather-appropriate
• Follow street safety rules
• Check your child’s candy

 

If you will not be participating in trick-or-treating activities, here are some fun ways to spend your night as a family:

• Host a fun kids night
• Attend community events
• Have a movie-night with candy, popcorn and everyone’s favourite treats
• Have a crafts night. Get out the glue, paper, crayons and have fun
