Halloween Safety in Oakville

Now that Thanksgiving is gone the next holiday to look forward to is Halloween! Halloween can be a lot of fun for those that partake in this holiday, today we at Kinder Buddies would like to give some suggestions for a fun and safe Halloween in Oakville. This post will include tips for safety as well as some events happening in the Oakville area on Halloween.

Halloween Safety Tips

• Stay Warm: When choosing a costume consider that it can be cold on Halloween night. Make sure to try on costumes with a light jacket or heavy sweater underneath. Best part of buying bigger? They will have the costume for another year to play in!
• Keep Accessories Minimal: When going door to door props like fairy wands and toy weapons are super fun for play, but can be a hindrance while walking outside. Keep the Accessories at home for play.
• Be Seen: Modify costumes/Shoes/Halloween bags to include Reflective Tape! Make sure your kids are seen even on Sidewalks. You can buy Reflective Tape for 5-10$ from hardware store or online at Amazon.ca.  Another great tip? Add glowsticks as necklaces and bracelets to help your kids be seen.
• Watch where you’re going:  Bring a flashlight along so you can see where you are going. Stick to sidewalks and mapped plan in advance so you have a safe route.
• Check Candy: An obvious and well known safety tip is to check your child’s candy before giving it to them. Make sure everything is wrapped and sealed.

• Tiny Tots on Parade: Monday October 31st 10am-12pm Show off your cool costumes at Oakvilles Town Square!
• Liams Monster Mash : Sunday October 30th starts at 1pm at Oakville Town Square. Another option for little ones to show off their costumes.
• Camper Halloween at Bronte Park:  Weekends of October 14th and October 21st Reserve a camping spot and decorate for some Halloween fun.
