Winter Weather: Stay Warm

As we continue on into Winter the Halton region has seen quite a few blistery days with temperatures dipping below zero. At Kinder Buddies Oakville Child Care Centre we know how much fresh air is important for little ones, but safety is our number one concern. We have taken some tips from the Halton Region website to stay safe and warm this winter.

Check the Forecast

Before you plan on leaving the house make sure you check the weather. While the cold may interrupt your outdoor plans, keeping warm and staying inside can be your safest option. Frostbite can occur within minutes if it is cold enough, limit your exposure. Check out our fun indoor activities instead!

Bundle Up

If you do need to leave the house at all make sure to be appropriately dressed from head to toe. Make sure all of your clothing is water proof, especially your boots. Don’t forget your hat, gloves, and scarf so that all extremities are covered. Your fingers, ears, nose, cheeks, and toes are usually the first to get frost bite.
