Day Trips for Kids in the GTA/Berry Picking Field Trip

Yesterday Kinder Buddies had an awesome opportunity to go Berry Picking! Our kids had a great opportunity to grab some fresh raspberries and enjoy the outdoors. To see our photos from the trip please go to the bottom of the page!

Day trips and exploring are the spice of summer so we have assembled a list of awesome attractions in the GTA that are fun for your whole family.

Wild Water Works (Hamilton)

Just outside of Burlington in Hamilton is Wild Water Works. Wild Water Works is currently the GTA’s only water park while Wild Water Kingdom in Brampton is closed for renovations.

Wild Water Works has slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, and two areas for even the littlest adventurers.

Bonus: After 4pm entry is only $10.82 for kids 3-10 and $12.36 for general admission ages 11+
Avoid the sun and pay a lower price. You still have four hours to explore!

Ontario Science Centre (Toronto)

The Ontario Science Centre in Toronto is one of the most fun educational attractions in the GTA.
The KidSpark area is made specifically for kids providing interesting facts and hands on learning.

Prices:
Adults (18-64) – $22
Kids (3-12) – $13
Youth (13-17) – $16

Wonderland (Vaughn)

Canada’s Wonderland is located in Vaughn and is the main attraction for thrill seekers in the GTA. Of course they also have a waterpark and an area with kid friendly rides in Planet Snoopy and Kidzville.

Kids will love exploring rides like the Swan Boat ride and pint sized Roller Coasters.

Tickets can be purchased online and at the park. While expensive purchasing tickets online in advance can save $10-$20. If you are a CAA member they also have discounted tickets.

Prices:
Adults (Ages 3-59): $48 (regular entrance)
Kids (Under 48″)/Senior: $36.99 (regular entrance)

Toronto Zoo (Pickering)

If your child loves animals they will love our local Toronto Zoo in Pickering.

The Toronto Zoo houses many different types of animals from mammals to reptiles. This summer you will have an amazing opportunity to meet Torontos two baby Pandas born in October 2015. Among other baby animals is a Baby Polar Bear, a Rhino calf, and Four Lion Cubs! To learn more specifically about their baby animals visit here: Toronto Zoo Baby Animals

Pirate Life at Centre Island (Toronto)

While a day at Centre Island in Toronto is a fun day in itself, make it extraordinary by going on a Pirate Adventure with Pirate Life!

Come dressed as a pirate or wear accessories they have and spend 1.5 hours living the pirate life. 1 hours will be spent on a 45 foot pirate ship making for a fun trip on lake Ontario.

The general price for adults and children is $24 but kids 2 and under are free!

Ripley’s Aquarium (Toronto)

Ripley’s Aquarium is a recent addition to Toronto right next to the CN Tower and Union Station making the trip from Oakville to Toronto painless.

In addition to the large magical aquariums filled with sharks and jellyfish, there is a section where children can “pet” stingrays. As well a “Discovery Centre” for fun water play.

Youth (6-13) – $16.98
Child (3-5) – $6.98
