Educational Fall Programs in the GTA

Ah, fall. Your little ones might be back at school or daycare, but you’re on a mission to make sure that learning never stops. After all, when kids get excited about learning every day, education just becomes a habit. Get the most out of your weekends and free time by enrolling in educational fall programs. Check out what’s going on this season in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA):

Family Nature Walks at High Park Nature Centre

Take in the fall colours at High Park with a family-friendly recurring nature program. Tucked away in the city is the opportunity for scenic and informative nature hikes that the whole family can learn from. Check out some of the educational fall programs the Nature Centre has to offer:

Tree-mendous Trees: Saturday, September 24 (10-11:30AM)

Your little ones can learn how to identify trees based on their bark and leaves, and understand how both animals and humans benefit from natural tree variety.

Ravine Walk: Saturday, October 8 (1:30-3PM)

The trees in High Park are what make High Park what it is. Enjoy a beautiful walk through the ravine and learn how trees work together to hold the park together.

Bats and Rats and Moths, Oh My!: Friday, October 21 (7-8:30PM)

Was that a bird?! Nope, it was a bat. When we close our eyes at night, bats and owls come out. Take a spooky walk through High Park in the dark and get to know your nighttime friends.

How Can We Listen to Nature?: Saturday, November 5 and 19, (1:30-3PM)

Plants, trees, and animals have their own methods of communication. As humans, we can try to better understand this communication by looking and listening very closely. Your family can embark on a beautiful, guided trek through the park and learn how to listen to nature.
