Celebrating Earth Day with Kids

Earth Day reminds us to take care of our planet Earth and all the living creatures that call it home, whether they are plants, animals, humans, or other organisms. As parents and guardians, it’s our responsibility to teach our children about the importance of caring for the Earth and being cognizant of the impacts of our actions.

Celebrating Earth Day — which falls on Saturday, April 22nd this year — with your kids is a great way to make them aware of these issues and to instill in them a sense of responsibility towards our planet. Keep reading to learn some fun and educational activities you can do with your kids to celebrate Earth Day to positively impact the environment.

Tree Planting Events (Mississauga)

The goal of the One Million Trees program this year: plant 1500 trees and shrubs across Mississauga. Wow! You and your little ones can volunteer to help plant these trees and shrubs across 11 sites in the city. By planting trees, not only do your kids gain environmental and conservation awareness, but they also get involved in the community and learn about the personal health benefits of living with trees and being immersed within greenery.
