Valentines Treat Ideas (Food Free)

Want to bring in some Valentines day cheer to your kids school or daycare but food isn’t allowed? This is common so we have some great alternative ideas! For all of our Kinder Buddies families a list of all the children in your little ones class will be handed out so no one gets left out!

Animal Theme Valentines

If your little one loves animals you could purchase a large pack of plastic toy animals from the dollar store. You can attach them to your regular Valentines cards with a hole puncher and ribbon. And no need to stop at just animals! You could do many themes from farm, zoo, or even dinosaurs!

School Supplies

If you want to add a little something that would be useful you could add crayons/pencils/erasers/rulers. There are lots of little Valentine related treats available at the dollar store or party stores like Party City. Again just use a hole puncher on a regular Valentine’s card and add the gift with some ribbon.

While you may not be allowed to bring in treats, plastic cookie cutters are a useful baking tool kids can take home. Even if kids don’t end up baking when they head home they can always use the cookie cutter when play with play dough! Tie a ribbon and a card for Valentines Flare!

Home Made Book Marks

Consider working with your little one to make a reusable craft as a valentines card. Bookmarks made from paint-strip samples can be a cute and useful gift. Popsicle Sticks can be coloured in or have foam stickers glued on. Bookmarks are great because you can possibly skip on the extra card.

Package of Bubbles

The party store and dollar store both have affordable packs of pre-packaged bubbles. As bubbles have the possibility to get messy you may want to package them in some cellophane. Then attach a card with some ribbon on the outside, just in case.

Small Colouring Books or Printed Cards for Colouring

If you’re planning on adding crayons to your Valentines gift consider also attaching small colouring books. These are available at most party stores. If not a colouring book, there are also black and white Valentines Cards you can print so kids can colour them themselves. We love this list of free printable valentines cards!

Small Fidget Toys

You have probably seen those poppable little fidget toys everywhere. You would be the coolest parent in the class if you attached your valentines cards to small bubble popper keychains. You can find them in bulk on Amazon. If the pop bubble fidgets aren’t your kids thing even rubber bouncy balls or the fuzzy bouncy balls are a fun gift.
