Spring-Themed Activities for Children

Some of the greatest art pieces are created using the most unconventional tools, whether they’re sponges, wires, or yarn. To make the best of spring, did you know you could use vegetables like okra? Okra creates a beautiful star-shaped image that your little ones can create effortlessly.

Cupcake Flowers

Show your little ones how you can use kitchen supplies as art supplies, instilling sustainable habits in them early on. They can create their own designs on plain liners or use the existing designs on colourful cupcake liners to create petals on their homemade flowers.

What you’ll need:

  • Cupcake liners of your choice
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Green paint (for the stem and leaves)

Sensory Tub

Do you constantly find little knick-knacks around your home that you cannot find a place for, especially after spring cleaning? Maybe it’s a hat from a doll, flower petals, or even buttons. By creating a sensory tub, you can give those knick-knacks a home and an activity for your little ones to play with.

To create a sensory tub, you’ll need:

  • Knick-knacks, of course!
  • A wide storage bin
  • Plain white rice

Paper Plate Rainbows

Have leftover paper plates from your last barbecue or take-out order? Your little ones can exercise their knowledge of colours as well as their fine motor skills when making paper plate rainbows. With a little bit of paint and a paper plate, your kids can bring the colours of the rainbow to life in their own homes. To make these rainbows, they’ll need:

  • A paper Plate

  • Cotton wool/swabs
  • Glue
